Fun Fact

Not Auburn related but they announced the 2010 Georgia Dome game will stick with the SEC-ACC theme. LSU is set to play UNC to open the 2010 season.

  1. I like these games to open the season. Great matchups. Being from Tallahassee and going to Auburn, I would LOVE to see an Auburn/FSU match up

  2. Here is another fun fact. That game should have been Auburn/UCLA. Good work, Jay Jacobs!!

  5. I am a big Auburn fan, but I have to agree with the anonymous posters. Auburn currently has a specific scheduling philosophy: schedule one BCS school and three patsies per year. Personally, I think this philosophy stinks and is quite cowardly. For example, Mr. Jacobs said we didn't need to play UCLA because we were already playing Clemson. Well, let's just assume, by some magic stroke, that Auburn's team next year is a national title caliber team. Shouldn't that team be able to beat UCLA anyways? Is "resting the starters" really that valid an excuse for scheduling three creampuffs? Look at UA: the recruiting advantage, created by national exposure in a marquee game, has been awesome for the Tide. If Auburn was smart, they wouldn't look such a gift horse in the mouth. Frankly, who knows if we will get offered another shot at the game (I could certainly see the organizers skipping Auburn in the future: "Well, those guys turned us down before...")

I have no problem with turning down offers from USC, Texas, or another such school that would be a heavy favorite, when we already have a BCS school on the schedule. But UCLA is no USC...
