Washington To LSU

Auburn lost out on a big offensive line prospect, Evan Washington, today. He committed to LSU today over Oklahoma and Oklahoma State. I had previously reported that Washington would be in Auburn this weekend but as of now that appears to be false.

  1. that really sucks. I thought Luper was going to be able to bring him home. We really need an OT to commit to us.

  2. The recruiting has really been weak for Auburn. The staff is really working hard, but it just doesn't seem like we can get any results. With the poor depth at the Off-line, I would think that spot would be an easy sell, but we've keep losing guy after guy at the position. If we don't get some big news this weekend as it's been projected then I'm going to start to wonder if they can get it done. LSU is loaded in off-line and we will have every spot open in a couple years.

  3. Yes, it doesn't look to good for the OL thus far.
I can't figure out how we have all this top RB's looking at us, but can get a decent sniff from some of the top OLs. I looked at who is left on our board and don't see more than two players who are rated above a 3 star that we have a decent shot with. Maybe Luper needs to go back to the drawing board on how to recruits these guys. Losing Washington when he was said to visit us this weekend stings.

  4. Clam down. Our coaches know what they are doing. There are plenty of Oline recruits left our there. We already have our LT in Coleman, who is a really good prospect. He is 275 ls of muscle, there is not fat on that kid. LT is the most important position.
