• 2008 stats: 93 tackles (50 solo), 2 sacks, 12 tackles for loss, 3 forced fumbles and one pass break up. Carried the ball 16 times for 110 rushing yards and 3 TDs on offense.
• Named honorable mention 6A All-State by ASWA as a junior. Number 16 on Birmingham News' Super Seniors list and ranked as the 18th best prospect in the state of Alabama by SuperPrep.
• Had offers from Auburn, Oklahoma State, Tennessee, UAB, Southern Miss and South Alabama.
• Took official visits to Auburn and Tennessee. He also planned a trip to Oklahoma State but did not end up going.
• Says Auburn was always his number one and took visits just to look around. Evans says his brother helped but did not determine where he would end up. He says the change of staff did not phase him and that he really likes the new staff.
