Owens To Visit

LaDarius Owens has confirmed that he will be in Auburn this weekend for camp. He is planning on visiting Alabama, Mississippi State and possibly Florida State in the coming weeks.

  1. Plans on more visits. Guess that means no commitment this weekend. I still can't understand how we haven't locked down this guy with a commit. This should be an easy one for us with the Auburn connection we have.

  4. I'm telling you guys, this recruting battle is the one to watch. If Auburn doesn't get this guy then it's going to look bad on us and show Auburn is not even close to being ready to challenge Alabama on the recruiting trail. I agree with the first poster, the guy has War Eagle ties on top of Alabama having about 40 LB's it seems. This shouldn't be a hard get for us.

  6. Beaver, saw this on another message board and was wondering if you had heard anything abt Ronald Powell. I know he is from Cali but supposedly is a big AU fan. Know if he plans on coming out to AU at all? He has made a trip to FL.

  8. I'm becoming sort of disillusioned by this "hold out" as well. We've broken records with big name prospects visiting and going away very impressed but this has not culminated in many verbals so far. I hope we can land some outstanding linemen this year or this year will result in a down year for our tigers. We need some big name commits soon to attract some others. Step it up Gene!

  9. Owens is an AU lock. It would be stupid of him to go to bamr wth all the depth they have. He is just looking around. FSU might be our biggest competition.

  10. Owens is an AU lock? If he was, so sold on Auburn, then why hasn't he committed? I get tired of people spouting people are locks, just to see them commit for another school. You don't know anymore than anyone else and don't do Auburn any favors by starting rumors, if he was to go elsewhere.

If was stupid for Petey Smith and others to go last year and they did anyway.
