As expected, Auburn picked up its fourteenth commitment for the 2010 class today in Kenneth Carter.
The 6'5", 265 lb. defensive tackle picked Auburn over Ole Miss, Alabama and Kentucky. He also had offers from Southern Miss, Clemson and LSU according to Scout. Carter says he wanted to get the decision out of the way so he could focus on his senior season. As a junior, Carter racked up around 60 tackles and six sacks.
Carter is rated a three star on Rivals and Scout. Rivals ranks him the number 63 DT while Scout has him 60th.
WDE! Thanks Beaver. How many players do you think we will sign in the class this year?
ReplyDeleteYou forgot to add ESPNU 150 watchlister.
ReplyDeleteWelcome Mr. Carter. WDE.
ReplyDeleteWill he play SDE or DT?
WDE! Thanks! Any word on Dyer? Is he supposed to announce any time soon?
ReplyDeleteWay to stay on top of things beav!
ReplyDeleteGreat job, Beaver!!!
ReplyDeleteI know that you won't give details Beaver, but should we expect any more excitement this week or can we take a few days off from the computer?
ReplyDeleteLooks like we're beginning to concentrate a little more on the guys up front. It's what's up front that counts. War Damn Eagle!
ReplyDeleteAny word on why LeDarius Owens postponed his announcement and/or where he is leaning now?
ReplyDeleteI trust Coach Luper's word that we will be seeing more commitments before the week is done...I've heard a big name thrown around but cannot confirm it at all...we're all waiting and seeing...I am expecting more...
ReplyDeleteWDE!
ReplyDeleteWhat's the skinny on Carter? Anyone know anything besides what ESPN says about him?
ReplyDeleteSo more as in more than 1 or probably just 1? Thanks.
ReplyDeleteIt's funny on the rivals site....and I quote: "NOTE: Although Rivals.com's Alabama site (BamaOnLine.com) claim Carter did not have an offer from Alabama, Carter, along with Greenville head coach Ben Blackmon, confirmed he did."
ReplyDeletethx as always for being on top of it, Beav!

wtf? did he or didn't he? the Rivals conspiracy thickens!
No surprise here Rivals is and will always be pro bama. I am not taking away from bama's recruiting success the last 2 years. They have done well. However, rivals does this regularly. Carter and his coach confirmed today that Carter was offered By Alabama.
ReplyDeleteMatthews just said Carter had no written offer from uat. I don't know why it bothers so many people. Who cares? He's a good player with potential to be great.
ReplyDeletePeople, people...it doesn't make a bit of difference if bama gave him a commitable offer or not. He's with us now. bama is not trying to build much depth on DL with their class. Go look at their depth chart. They're 3 deep at NT and 4 deep at end, with the majority being soph and Fr. And they've got two DE's in their class already. Just because we didn't "steal" one from bama doesn't mean the football world is crashing down upon us. We got a great DT, who by the looks of it, is pretty underrated. If we end up with Carter, Thornton and/or Whittaker at DT, I'll take that DT class all day.
ReplyDeleteSo Matthews knows more than Carter and Carter's cach whether CARTER has an offer or not???? Man there are some ignorant people out there.
ReplyDeletehey Beaver have you heard who the other player that is transferring from FSU is? I read there was one on Al.com
ReplyDeleteI don't doubt he had an offer. But was it a written or committable offer? Who cares? He's a very good prospect.
ReplyDeleteAnother great job Beaver.. Keep up the great work you do.. Hey any word on anymore guys leaving the team.. You never got back to us on that.. Thanks...
