Know A Signee: Nosa Eguae

  • Name pronounced "NOSE-uh E-gway"
  • Will wear number 94.
  • Three star defensive end and ranked the 17th best strongside defensive end by Rivals. Also ranked 60th in the Texas Postseason Top 100. Two star DT on Scout. Rated a 77/100 and the 62nd best defensive end on ESPN.com.
  • Mansfield, Texas (Summitt High School)
  • Born: August 15, 1991
  • Committed January 26, 2009.
  • 6'3", 234 lbs. 4.9 sec. 40 yard dash. 1330 on the SAT
  • 2008 stats: 67 tackles with 15 for a loss and 6 sacks, recovered 3 fumbles and forced two fumbles. 2007 stats: 76 tackles, 18 for loss, 7 sacks and an interception.
  • Named a PrepStar All-American, named number 26 local prospect by the Dallas Morning News.
  • Had offers from Auburn, Colorado, Iowa State, Kansas, Minnesota, Nebraska, Purdue, Texas Tech and UCLA.
  • Took official visits to Auburn, Colorado, Minnesota and Texas Tech.
  • Eguae was previously committed to Colorado. Eguae committed to Colorado in September and decommitted on January 9th, 2009. Auburn did not really enter the picture until that time. He was a target of Curtis Luper's at Oklahoma State. After one visit to Auburn, Eguae was ready to commit. If he did not commit he would have visited UCLA and likely ended up at Texas Tech, UCLA or Minnesota.
  • Says that Luper and Tracy Rocker were the big reasons for choosing Auburn.
  • Qualified and on campus now.

  2. Auburn football has been known to be Running Backs and Defense. Excited to see the new leadership treatment of tradition and growth. I'm sure CTR will make our line one to reckon with
