  1. The only thing that scares me about Blake is that 4.6 speed. He seems like a good possesion type, but no way is he going to be a game changer with that kind of speed.

  2. Blazing speed isn't everything. If he can is quick and can running clean, sharp routes he will be just fine. I'm sure having an NFL QB as your dad helped him in all of those areas.

  4. Zimas - Didn't they say the same thing about Jerry Rice?

  5. Emory is gonna be special. Check out this vid:

By this interview he seems like way ahead of the game and has much confidence. He will contribute immediately for us and be a huge part of our offense!

  6. Yeah, I think Jerry Rice ran about a 4.7 40. He was succesful because of his work ethic and the luxury of having great QBs throwing him the ball.

Hopefully our players will come in with the right attitudes and work ethic. That's what separates the men from the boys.

  9. Will this be big news in the state? I know you can't name names but will it be big?

  11. ooooooh.....so you DID get nailed by Rivals. Sad say :(

btw, Hakeem Nicks ran a 4.63 and he did more than change games

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v2ikDsi-DJA

    Massaquoi also ran a 4.66

I would say he will probably turn out like Crabtree. Crabtree does not have break away speed, but he played QB in high school. Was a 4 star QB, but played WR and shined because he knew exactly what Graham Harrell wanted.

  12. Did not get nailed...just respecting their wishes to not publish that information publicly...

  15. Honestly most 40 times you see are completely fabricated. This is a kid that can go up and and get the ball over a defender, and has plenty of the speed. What matters more in a wide reciever is the ability to run precise routes and make the catch when others can't. We're talking about a 4* here. He's damn good and hopefully his set of skills will carry over into his college career.

  16. Amen brother this is a great site and the news is awesome. The advantage that blake will have is his dad played qb and he knows how routes should be run and where the ball should come.

  17. For those who think emory is slow the 4.6 posted by rivals was during his soph year if you go back and look you will see that it was never updated also during his track season of his jr. and sr year consistantly posted 10.5 , 10.6 100 meters which you can find in the Austin papers this kid is a legit 4.4 guy i saw him pull away from kids and break angle like no other :-)
