- LaDarius Owens seems to be torn between Auburn and Alabama. He called the schools even. He seems to really like coach James (Benedict) Willis but could be turned off by the Alabama depth at linebacker. This could end up being the biggest in-state battle of 2010. All these new articles about Owens remind me of Oku Watch...not again!
- D.J. Howard says he would prefer to play running back in college but would be fine playing safety. He could be near a decision. His top two seem to be Auburn and Clemson.
- Michael Thornton's top three are Auburn, Ole Miss and Miami. His top three previously included South Carolina instead of Ole Miss.
- I've heard Corey Grant could visit this weekend.
- Also, anyone who posts or lurks on the Auburn Football Message Board on Yuku, we lost a great guy and great Auburn fan, Andrew Frederick, who went by the username theplainstruth. Prayers are requested for his family...

If Owens decides to become a bammer, how do we continue to let things like this happen? The very idea of the relative of a former Auburn player going over to the enemy. This is disgraceful if it happens. First we lose a coach to THEM and now, perhaps a relative of a former players. What's wrong with this picture?
ReplyDeleteThere is no way this happens. He's going to be an Auburn Tiger. Relax.
ReplyDeleteIf Owens goes to bama it would really be disappointing. I was at AU when James Owens was there. Great guy! He was a hell of a blocker and not a bad runner. Especially against the Gators. He ran all over them on the Gators homecoming. AU won something like 60-14. Unbelievable game.

What's up with all this pessimistic glass half-empty stuff? Owens should and will go to Auburn. Alabama has too much depth at LB and his uncle is a plus for us. Keep the faith!
ReplyDeleteIf Owens is a sure bet for Auburn, then why hasn't he commited yet? I agree that these things should not be happening and I believe all the talk about how we are doing in recruiting is lacking some truth. If you look at our commits, it's not all that impressive to me. It also looks like Satan is starting to get a firm grip on some other in state talent we are going head to head on. If Luper has any of these so called silent commits, he needs to pull the rag out of their mouth and make them known and commit. The lack of big time commits being known will only hurt the chance of getting other top recruits....
ReplyDeleteWell there's a big thing in July which should help out. I bet there's something going on there. Luper and the boys know what they are doing and plus all the recruits we have will gain another star or more after their senior years anyway.
