Preseason Coaches' Poll Out

Auburn picked up 12 points which puts them at about 39th. The SEC has five in the top 25: Florida (1), Alabama (5), LSU (9), Ole Miss (10) and Georgia (13). The only other SEC school to pick up more votes than Auburn is South Carolina who had 18 points. Full rankings here.

  3. That's OK. I'd rather our boys come out with a chip on their shoulder and a point to prove than worry about the rankings this year especially. However, we need to learn to live with success as well as failure in the near future when we come back.

  5. All quiet on the Plains and the recruiting front right now...basketball picked up a commitment...umm...I probably will not have a practice wrap up until late tonight...

  6. Hey that's pretty cool. After a 5-7 season, the Coaches' Poll picked up 7th in the SEC. Not sure it was intended that way, but it sure is a vote of confidence for the new staff.

At any rate the coaches have more faith in them than the SEC media. I suppose you could say they voted us 4th in the SEC West rather than 5th...which I believe is about right. I don't see both Ole Miss and Ark. finishing ahead of us.
