Lattimore Cuts It To Five
While we have not heard much from Marcus Lattimore in a while and he seems to have lost interest, Auburn still made the cut for his top five while surprisingly, Florida State did not. His top five are Auburn, North Carolina, Penn State, South Carolina and Oregon. He will visit Penn State (Oct 10) and UNC (Oct 31) during the season and will visit the other three after.

nice hopefully big cat weekend made an impact if we have a shot at ne of those three backs we will be fine
ReplyDeleteHate to say it but Auburn is a long shot for Lattimore, especially if we get Dyer and Seastrunk. Owens on campus right now is a really good sign for Auburn and having Reed on campus can't hurt. Although I can only draw 3 ideas from Reed visiting and they are: 1) He's taking his family down to make sure they like it so he can commit to Auburn. 2) He's commiting to LSU and he's just visiting Auburn to make sure he made the right descision. 3) He's just visiting for fun and nothing special is going to happen. Let's hope that #1 is right.
ReplyDeleteWell it appears that our reported demise in the eyes of Mr. Lattimore were premature. With so many prognosticators saying that FSU was in the lead for his services it's shocking that they dont make the cut. I wonder if he and Lache still talk often? Hmm...
ReplyDeleteAs far as those 3 ideas about Reed... Kids are studing for exams so I dont know how much fun he would have this weekend so I would rule out #3. Auburn's a bit far to bring your family if you already know you will commit elsewhere so #2 seems unlikely. #1 seems to have the most merit but I am a homer. Still, that doesnt mean I'm wrong, just means I'm biased. lol
What do you mean studying for exams it's the summer. Although it could be different in Lousiana.
ReplyDeleteI personally do not think we would be in his top 3 if he cut it down that far...just saying...

ReplyDeleteBut if he wants to go where Seastrunk goes than he would have Auburn up there, but I doubt they would be his leader. The real question though is Owens. I mean was there any rumor he was visiting Auburn this weekend?

ReplyDeleteYeah, I honestly don't get Rivals...everyone is reporting he put us in his top five, but Rivals alone says he has no interest. OK I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and say they just have updated their database yet.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, if you want to see the correct listing go to his profile on Scout or ESPN. They have both reported correctly that we are in the top 5
At the same time, I agree with Beaver...if he cut it to 3 today, I'm not sure we'd be there.
ReplyDeleteHe means the students at Auburn.
ReplyDeleteOK I just looked at Penn St's recruiting on Rivals and they have really been average the past few years. This year's class looks good but they dont have a RB yet. They signed one(1) in 2009 but hadnt signed any since 2006 when they got 3. They do still use RBs at Penn St right?? lol anyway if playing time is his #1 concern, Penn St is the place to go. It's just weird how they go so long without sighing a RB. I've got to pay more attention to them this season.
ReplyDeleteLattimore had a great time at Auburn when he did visit. When he does comes back for his official visit it will get us back on top. :)
ReplyDeleteNice we made the top 5.
ReplyDeleteBut, all indicatio ns is he stays at home, likely USC.
I agree, rivals posted a summary on their site and although I can't elaborate, the bottom line is he says he likes all five schools and gives the reasons. He also says he won't make a decision until after he wins a state championship. So I suppose that puts any early commitment rumors to a rest. I think we should go after Lache and Dyer and HOPE we get Lattimore.
ReplyDeleteill be content with one of the big 3 RB's no way we get all 3 of em i think but 2 is icing on the cake
ReplyDeletePenn State has a verbal from Silas Redd, a 4* RB from CT.
ReplyDeleteI personally think Lattimore is an awesome back in all aspects. I hope we get him as well and I hope the coaches are going after him and stay in touch with him. His competition is much greater in high school than Dyer's I believe. Lattimore also has a great OL though. He LOOKS like an Auburn back.
