Former Auburn offensive lineman Chaz Ramsey underwent back surgery today. It was his second such back surgery and signalled the end of Ramsey's playing career. Doctors expect Ramsey to be normal and pain free.
Ramsey injured his back in December of 2007 while lifting weights. The injury turned out to be two herniated discs. Ramsey alleged that the Auburn training staff disregarded his doctor's rehab instructions after his first surgery in the Press-Register last week. After a rigorous training program by the staff, two months after his surgery, Ramsey said it was like back to square one.
Auburn relieved head trainer Arnold Gamber of his duties last week, but the school said it was not due to the Press-Register's article. Ramsey plans to continue to attend classes at Auburn.
