  1. I would be shocked if he doesn't leave Auburn a commited Tiger.

  4. I am personally surprised I don't know what everyone else knew...

  5. I love the idea that he will be on campus at the same time as Reed. That has to be intentional. Recruiting Reed to Auburn, perhaps?

  6. I just read an article on the Bleacher Report about Owens and his difficulty in making a decision. I keep reading over and over again that many of these kids are waiting to see what kind of season AU has before they commit. This includes Owens. AU is ranked very low this year and is not expected to have a breakout year (I hope the experts are wrong on this one). So how will our success be measured in their eyes? You either want to come or you don't. Sorry, but this AU fan is just a little frustrated. I hope in the end these young men choose to go where they can get the best education. War Eagle!

  7. Auburn is set up perfectly. When you have low expectations, its EASY to overacheive. If Auburn merely wins 8 games (which I think is probably the most realistic goal), the season will be seen as a smashing success and will probably get Coach GC nominated for SEC coach of the year.

Honestly, if recruits are going to use our success this year as a measuring stick, isn't it better that we don't have the daunting expectations from last year (picked to win the SEC West, then bombed)?

If kids are looking for improvement from Auburn, then they are likely going to see it. It's pretty easy to improve on a 5-win season! For the record, I believe we can win 8 games and go to a decent bowl.

  8. According to an article in today's Bham news, Owens uncle has advised him to take all his visits because it's the best time of his life. I wouldn't read anything into his visit since his Uncle lives in Auburn. He and his mother could just simply be visiting and that's all.

  9. In this article, he also said if he knew where he was going, he'd still take his official visits. That pretty well explains it.

  10. Owens will probably go to Auburn. His uncle told him not to commit yet, but to enjoy the recruiting process. ..even if you already know where you want to go, have some fun with it while you can.
