Visitors

A few visitors will be on the Plains this weekend:
  • A BIG TIME offensive lineman will likely make his first ever trip to the Plains. It has been asked to keep quiet until he visits as he is currently committed to another school. He has real interest in Auburn. An official visit is already in the works.
  • Corey Grant will be back this weekend. The Alabama commitment visited Auburn last weekend as well.
  • Vanderbilt commitment Davis Dudchock will be in attendance. His father played for Auburn.
  • There will be mostly junior visitors this weekend. Some big names include LaMichael Fanning, Watt Dantzler and Spencer Region.
  • There are no official visits planned this weekend.

  1. Beav, Why is Corey Grant visiting again for a second week in a row?? Didn't he recently come out and strongly confirm his committment to bama?

  2. If it has been asked to keep it quiet, why post about it?

  3. If I were the Coaches, I'd keep an eye on him to make sure his motives for visiting are above board.

  4. It has not asked to remain quiet, the player's name has...

  5. Well I don't know if you just copied and pasted that from another site, but this is what you put in your original post.

  6. Dale,
Why don't you quit being an a$$. Beav does an awesome job, and it's FREE. Quit nitpicking.

  7. Corey Grant is seeing the AU offense shine. I believe he wanted to go to Auburn but he was unsure that we would be any count. Why would he visit again? He wants to see Malzahn in action one more time and will rethink his commitment to the Bammer Mullets. WDE

  8. Dale shut it, go somewhere else if you dont appreciate the work he puts in. I dont want to be pety but I can not understand why an Alabama commit who has come out and said he is sure he wants to go there keeps going on visits to Auburn games. I notice a differnce that Dudcheck will just be attending the game

  9. Most of our current OL are Juniors - so any OL that signs this year has a tremendous chance of starting their sophomore or RS Freshman year - able to start for 3 or 4 years in the SEC, playing for the most innovative OC in the country. That's going to equal a nice NFL salary for a few of those guys.

  10. Corey Grant would be a beast in our offense and he knows it. Why settle for ground beef when you can have steak? I think we have his attention!

  11. Be 'pety' if you wish. I could subscribe to Rivals and post premium content as well. We've been screwed by them not knowing when to keep things quiet before. If you all don't realize the pressure put on these recruits from their coaches and people in their towns, you all keep drinking your kool-aid.

  12. dale - no premium content was posted here, just rumors. your last post didn't make much sense, please go be stupid somewhere else - we like to speculate about the future of Auburn football on this website, doesn't sound like it's for you, thanks.

  13. Dale, STFU! A recruit is not going to base his decision on what Beaver or any other "blogger" writes on his website! Could you possibly be THAT stupid to believe that could be possible? When he said that the recruit stated that he wanted to "keep silent" about his courtship with Auburn, anyone with half a brain could figure out that he meant that the recruit wanted the coaches and the university not to make it public. This is done out of respect to the other school that he has already committed to and also to avoid pressure from fans of that school. Use your brain or don't post anymore, unless you just like sounding stupid.

  14. BTW, go ahead and subscribe to Rivals and try post everything you read on there to your site (that you could so "easily create and maintain") and see how long that lasts! You'd be shut down before your Saturday morning cartoons are over!

  15. Dale is right...for the most part Beaver's stuff is strongly paraphrased Rivals material, with a bit of stuff from Scout or AU Undercover. I'm a bit surprised that Rivals hasn't done anything as its pretty obvious when they post a War Room, and then later that day a bullet-form paraphrasing of most of the stuff in there gets posted here. Thats not a knock on Beaver in any way, this site is a great tool for non-subscribers, but that doesn't mean that he's not just rehashing premium info, which is pretty much the case (as anyone w/ a Rivals account can see).

Look, the problem is that when you say "we cant say the name, dont try to guess" what ends up happening? A million speculation threads pop up on 10 different websites and someone eventually WILL crack the code and figure out who it is (its not that hard, there aren't a million highly ranked OT's already committed). When it gets cracked then it gets spread and all of a sudden the name is out in the open, then the people at the school the kid is committed to find out and the press is put on.

Again, the blame doesn't go on Beaver because technically he didn't break any requests, BUT at the same time mentioning it here most definitely isn't going to help as what you are doing is just encouraging more and more people to speculate.

I wish it would have never even been mentioned by Rivals, but thats no surprise as Lee and Matthews for the most part are idiots.

  17. Shrug, we'll all know who the OL is tonight when he shows up at the game anyway. No big deal. "Premium" sites can try to hide their content all they want, but once anything is posted on the web, it spreads, password-protected or not.

Believe me, I know from experience.

  18. Who cares where the info comes from? Let's get ready for the game and get ready to watch Arkansas take out Alabama. Also did Tubbs ever recruit like this? NO WAY! WDE!

  19. Beav how "big time" is this ofensive lineman?

  20. "Shrug, we'll all know who the OL is tonight when he shows up at the game anyway. No big deal."
    -------------------------------

The big deal is GETTING him to the game. Most schools dont like their committed players taking visits elsewhere (unless that recruit had made it known before committing he would take visits). Whats happens is that if the name gets out early the opposing school puts the pressure on and then you can have any number of situations where the recruit will be pressured so much that in the end he doesn't even show up...eg: Schools finds out, contacts HS coach of recruit who is in cahoots w/ the committed school, HS coach convinces player not to go (ie: the Reuben Randle situation last year when he canceled the first trip he was supposed to make).

If/when he makes it in then go nuts because it wont matter if the name gets out, the issue is enticing people ("oh a surprise big name recruit is coming! but dont speculate") several days before hand and then risking the possibility of someone finding out and then leaking it...which is why I wish Rivals wouldn't have even made any mention at all until game day at the earliest, but of course given Matthews' and Lee's past history there is no way that was going to happen.

  21. Boris, let me tell you something that your parents should have told you a LONG time ago... You've got WAY too much time on your hands. You sound like Ben Stiller in that movie, Along Came Polly...
Reuben Feffer: "I know that I have a .013% chance of being hit by a car on my way home. Or a one in 46,000 chance of falling through a subway grate. So I try to manage that risk by avoiding danger and having a plan and knowing what my next move is. And I guess you don't exactly live your life that way. Yeah... which is great, but I'm not gonna ever be a dirty dancer, and I don't eat food with my hands, and I really like you, but I just don't think this is gonna work out."
That's you, Boris! I wish I could thump you in your nose! Stay over at Rivals and bash those guys and leave our Beav alone!
Thank you, Beaver, for what you do! Please keep it up, as long as you can, and disregard these morons.

  23. Well I know who the visitor is....should I tell everyone? LOL!

  24. Well he has committed to either Ole Miss or Florida State....that's as much as I will tell ya.

  25. It's Ed Christian! There, I said it! Ooo! My goodness, he might not come now, since I revealed the big secret!

    ReplyDelete
  26. Christian decommitted from Flor St and reopened his recruitment after visit to Auburn

You really have no idea, do you?

Yeah, we snuck DeAngelo Benton out the back door when he quietly visited shortly before signing day for shits and giggles.

    ReplyDelete
  28. We got Benton at the last second b/c Rueben Randall's crazy father scared the sh*t out of LSU and told them he wasn't going to commit if he had competition! LSU then backed off of Benton leaving him hanging and he fell into our hands! Please don't try and pretend like you know me and how involved I am and my family is with college football! I know more about what goes on behind the scenes of recruiting than most folks. I'll leave it at that. While I'll concede to you that recruiting is a shady game and there are alot of backdoor/hush-hush deals done, that does not apply in this case. Coaches are constantly in touch with dozens of players that you haven't heard about on Rivals/Scout/etc. The difference is that sometimes guys slip thru the cracks and don't get reported b/c coaches and players don't publicize it. Trust me. It doesn't matter one bit what you or I or anyone else says on some message board. Players and coaches are going to do whatever they want to!
