Malzahn will be gone next year. anyone else see what ABC's pregame show was called yesterday? the "Wildcat" show. he'll be head coach at either a major college program or the NFL - calling it right now.
Yeah, that is always a possibility with a highly successful coordinator, but I'd be shocked if Malzahn didn't hang in there for the remainder of his 3 yr contract at least. From everything I've read about the guy, all he thinks about is offense...he lives and breathes it and as a HC he wouldn't be as involved in that as he is now. Also, Chizik's coaching style is very hands off when it comes to the offense...so Gus basically gets to do whatever he wants. Now if he had a jerkoff like "Knee-High" Nick Saban as a HC, yeah, he'd be a 1 year OC. Sorry bammers :)
If GM is satisfied coaching offense then I can't really think of a better place than at AU if the money stays good for him here. If he has the head coaching bug it may be one year and out. I'm gonna enjoy the one year for sure.
Need to start a fund that everyone can donate to in order to pay Malzahn whatever it takes so he will never leave.
