Tennessee's Explanation

About the Tiger Walk...from the Knoxville News Sentinel:

"In 2004 when the Tigers played here, we had approximately 5,000 fans show up with the band and the cheerleaders, which was a great atmosphere, but a huge safety issue for the student-athletes, band and cheerleaders and fans because of the tight space," said a Tennessee spokesperson.

"If something had happened to a fan in that area, EMT would not have been able to respond because of the crowd size."

  1. Sounds like to me they fear a rowdy crowd and are afraid that the "tiger walk" might inspire the Auburn players too much. hehehehehe

  2. That is the exact response (word for word) that I got to my email that I sent the UT athletic dept. If they fear a crowd, then they are really gonna have one now.

  3. I wasn't going to the game, but they make me want to go even more just to spite them....

  5. If that was their true concern, then they should not allow the Vol Walk, tailgating, or the impromptu Tiger Walk that is going to happen (which, in their statement, they allowed). Hell, they might as well not allow the game to go on (players might get hurt, EMTs will have a tough time getting to fans that might have trouble). This is a really weak attempt and just a little more imagination and they could have at least come up with a better excuse that what they gave. WDE.

  6. Imagination?

This is the school that hired the "media darling" Lane Kiffin as their Head Coach. As an Auburn fan, I'm thankful they removed him from the candidate pool so our brain trust didn't hire him. Win or lose Saturday night, one thing is certain, Lane Kiffin is a joke!

Don't be shocked after the 2010 season when UT comes calling on Trooper Taylor...
