News Wrap Up

  • I've been informed Philip Lutzenkirchen has suffered an undisclosed injury.
  • Gabe McKenzie has been working back at defensive end recently.
  • The focus of practice this week has been tackling and special teams.
  • A lot of fundamentals work is being done like taking good angles.
  • We could begin to see more of Anthony Gulley in the coming weeks.
  • Trainers say Mike McNeil is looking good but is likely weeks away from returning.
  • Tracy Rocker has had a lot of praise for Jake Ricks this week.
  • Josh Bynes is on track for 112 tackles this season. The last two seasons combined, he had 63.
  • Shon Coleman could be wavering on his commitment. He says his parents are pushing him to check out Ole Miss more.
  • Stay tuned in the next three days...that is all I will say...

  1. I will be VERY angry if we lose Coleman! I think that means we automatically lose Robinson too! WTF is Houston Nutt doing over there and WhyTF would these guys rather play for Ole Piss?

  2. I'm predicting a USC upset over Ole Miss so hopefully that can change some minds...

  4. I was under the impression Coleman was always a SOFT commit at best from the get go. I just assumed he would weasel his way out of his commitment sometime, just didn't think he would blame it on his mom.

I do not want to sound like sour grapes but can't we replace him with another 3 star OL?

  6. its killing me reading all the rumors about who it could possibly be. I'm starting to drift towards the thinking that it is somebody we havn't been talking about for a while.

  7. Well USC just beat ole piss like 15 seconds ago, so maybe, his mom will tell him to say at Auburn and bring Robinson with him...

  9. they have been having to play very vanilla since the depth is so bad. This week they should be able to do a few more things as some veterans are returning. They have given up a lot of yardage and points, but they are ridiculously thin.

  10. waffles, coleman is the "highest" 3-star on Rivals and many expect him to be bumped up to a 4-star after this season. Also, most agree that he very well could be underrated and turn out to be a great player at the next level. There just aren't that many 6'7" 300 lbs OT's who are agile and able to run our offense!

  11. Daniel - good points...hadn't really thought about it like that...don't get the wrong impression, I hope we land Coleman and a bunch more solid OL recruits. I take it too personal when these rercuits say they are going to do something and then do something else. Reminds me when Aubrey Phillips played games with us last year and it backfired on him and had to come back with his hat in his hand. Thanks and War Eagle!
