Eric Smith's Case Takes Another Turn

Running back Eric Smith is countering a third-degree assault charge by filing a harrassment charge against the "victim". Smith was arrested following a fight a week ago following a fight outside an Auburn hotel. Harrassment is a class C misdemeanor and is punishable by no more than three months in prison. Smith has not been practicing with the team since the incident.

  1. this is the best way to deal with this...not because it is the right thing to do, but because the charges will now most likely be dropped on both sides.

  2. What I don't understand is Eric said the guy punched him first, and he had a bloody nose to prove it. So why not press assault charges on the guy?

  3. Marcus - It could be too late to press charges and this was his only route. Not sure.

  5. AUcat,

The site has been removed temporarily because it is combining forces with a guy from "The War Eagle Reader" to create a new blog. The new blog will have the same address: warblogeagle.com

The guy who runs JCCW said he is moving to Arizona this week, which may cause delays. It'll be back up soon, according to his last post.
