BREAKING NEWS

Montez Billings has left the team and has left Auburn. Billings has been serving a four game suspension. He already has his degree and will "pursue other opportunities".

  1. I wish him well. He must have really been in the dog house to be only 15 days from playing and up and leave. He must have felt that even if he COULD play, he wouldn't get to. Well, good luck to you Montez.

  3. According to Bryan Matthews:

Montez dropped a class without telling anyone that dropped him below the NCAA annual minimum eligibility requirements. He's had some other issues too.

  4. I wish him luck! I hope his degree wasn't in sanitation management like most football players! Now on to real estate or banking boy! WDE!:)

  5. Academic issues for a degree holding player? Umm, yeah ok. It's been awhile, but when I was at Auburn if you were an athlete and wanted to drop a class, you had to get a signature from one of the academic people in the athletic department for that very reason.

I put this in the same category as Antoine Carter's "injury", Gabe McKenzie's "illness", and PPL's "personal issues". At least the Huntsville Times has filed an FOIA request for Auburn's correspondence with the NCAA about Billings. Should be interesting.

  6. It's becoming too common for athletes to leave Auburn with playing time left. Billings COULD have helped this team if he had chosen to remain for this season. Why didn't he?

  7. Does anyone know if Michael Dyer has arrived on campus yet.
