LaDarius Owens News/A Few Notes

I've always felt that, for many reasons, that Auburn was in the lead for LaDarius Owens. It has pretty much come down to Auburn and Alabama with LSU lingering around. Today, however, Owens was quoted as saying he was "not comfortable" at Alabama on his visit this weekend. The ESPNU 150 watch list linebacker has also been a lifelong Auburn fan and his uncle James, was the first African American to play football at Auburn. He has, however, recently stated that Auburn previously was his favorite but now that he has taken visits, he cannot name a favorite. That was about a week ago. He will be back in Auburn this Friday.
  • 2009 signee Josh Jackson finally made his first first official visit to Auburn this weekend. Emory Blake and Philip Lutzenkirchen were also in town.
  • Gadsden, AL cornerback Dale Trimble visited this weekend. He said he looks forward to going back. He did say Auburn is recruiting him the hardest. He will wait until Signing Day to sign. ESPN.com gives him a grade of 79.
  • Stephenson (GA) defensive lineman Michael Thornton was also in Auburn this weekend.
  • 2010 commitment Shaun Kitchens was in Auburn this weekend. He said the visit solidified his commitment.

  1. I'd say that Owens' comments regarding UA is a positiv sign. May we possibly receive commitment number five this Friday?
