No way we take Smith unless we miss out on both Thornton and Jones.
ReplyDeletethe insiders are saying our chances with thornton are dropping like a rock. and every school in the sec would take calvin smith. my guess is he stays with tennessee in the long run, but even if he doesn't, i don't think we have more of a chance with him than anyone else.
ReplyDeleteNo way they take 6'4 260lb Smith over 6'3 296lbs Jones. Jones is a powerhouse right now. He can bench 400lbs and squat 585lbs. He is physically ready for the SEC right now. Smith is at least two years away.
ReplyDeleteAnd let me clarify my original statement by saying we are probably going to take 2 more DTs, and we all but have Whitaker. So the other spot will go to either Thornton or Jones. If we miss both, then we will take Smith.
And it looks like we have missed on Thornton. But Jones is coming down this weekend. I think we will get him.
We would take Jones over Smith. Jones is third on our board behind Thornton and Whittaker.
ReplyDeleteam i the only Auburn fan that doesn't have access to the coaches' recruiting hierarchy? does tommy thigpen release his wish list online somewhere?? i'd love to see it - someone please post a link, thanks!
ReplyDeleteI dont have access, but I can figure it out for myself. You can also.
ReplyDeleteSorry to bring this up but....when is AU gonna fire Jeff Lebo? UGH! OK back to football.
ReplyDeletestill alive Beav??
ReplyDeletei agree, btw - Lebo's had enough of a chance to get this team together. i don't see how we're going to win a single SEC game this year.
