Updates

  • I will have a stat wrap up from last night's game later on tonight. I think we all know the score of the game so I do not feel that I need to report stuff like that. I try and get the information that you want to read and not waste time reporting what we all already know.
  • Tommy Trott has a left knee injury. The facts are not out yet on what it is but I am trying to figure out.
  • Chizik says the punt block from last night will be fixed for next week.
  • Chizik says the defense is about two third-down stops away from being where we want to be.
  • Chizik wants to make sure no one gets ahead of themselves and have too unrealistic of expectations for the rest of the season.

Two Notes

  • Josh Harris has won the deep snapping job for field goals and extra points. Clayton Crofoot will hold.
  • Interesting note that Inside The Auburn Tigers has made me aware of: 8 of 13 seniors have already earned their degrees (Montez Billings, Antonio Coleman, Walt McFadden, Chris Todd, Gabe McKenzie, Aairon Savage, Ben Tate and Tommy Trott).

Thursday Wrap-Up

  • Auburn does not appear interested in transfer DE Sidell Corley.
  • Practice has been split into two groups. The first group seems to have the more experienced and more likely to play players. Demond Washington and Nosa Eguae have impressed and moved to the first group. Other newcomers in the first group include Emory Blake, Philip Lutzenkirchen and DeAngelo Benton.
  • Travante Stallworth and Anthony Gulley were taking reps at receiver.
  • Aubrey Phillips has been taking reps at left tackle.
  • Lutzenkirchen has moved to the number 5 position after playing the number 3. He is now behind Tommy Trott. Gabe McKenzie is playing the number 3 behind Mario Fannin.
  • DeAngelo Benton got reps with the first and second group today.
  • Mike McNeil was dressed out but not participating in drills. He did not appear to have a limp.

Spring Practice Begins

About three minutes ago, spring football practice officially began. Practices are closed to the public because Chizik wants practice and not have to worry what people write about it. Some notes out of today are that Aairon Savage wll play both corner and safety this year, TE Brent Slusher is not on the spring roster due to injury and TE Vance Smith is playing offensive line. Chizik has been overly quiet about injuries but it does not look like Tommy Trott will be playing. Other players who we know have injuries but do not know their status are Philip Pierre-Louis (ACL), Lee Ziemba (knee), Chris Todd (rotator cuff surgery) and Aairon Savage's playing status.
