Some Notes

  • Anthony Gulley is now going by Anthony Gulley-Morgan.
  • Paul Finebaum has predicted Auburn to go 9-3 in 2010.
  • Jeff Grimes says offensive tackle John Sullen has had a solid spring and in great shape.
  • It appears Cam Newton has been taking the majority of first team snaps.
  • Probably the biggest news is that it appears Shon Coleman is cancer free. He still has to go through treatment but it is miraculous that he is in remission after just 15 days of treatment.
Now some notes from Saturday's scrimmage:
  • Mario Fannin had a 60 yard touchdown run.
  • The only touchdown pass was from Newton to Darvin Adams. Neil Caudle threw an interception to Demond Washington.
  • The offense won the scrimmage.
  • Stick with me...I know I have not updated a ton lately but that is about to change.

  • Born: December 31, 1990
  • Committed: 1/18/2009
  • 6'5", 350 lbs
  • 2008 stats: obviously there are not many statistics for him. Graded out at 86% with 55 pancake blocks.

  • Had offers from Auburn, Duke, Memphis, Southern Miss, Tulane and UAB.
  • Took official visits to Auburn and Southern Miss.
  • Waited for an offer from Auburn. Committed to Southern Miss in January, visited Auburn one week later, picked up an offer and committed to Auburn. Originally was supposed to visit Ole Miss that weekend instead of Auburn.
  • Would have signed with Southern Miss had he not picked Auburn.
  • Has worked with the first team some due to injuries. He has lost approximately 25 pounds since showing up on campus.

Lattimore Expected At A-Day

Running Back U has made great strides so far in the 2010 recruiting season for the top running backs. The number one running back, Lache Seastrunk, visited Auburn and said it was the best visit he's had and I believe Auburn is in his top 2. The third best running back in the nation, Michael Dyer, has visited Auburn and lists them in his top 3. It's not surprising, then, that the number two running back in the nation, five star Marcus Lattimore, will take in A-Day. The ESPNU 150 back out of South Carolina has not really mentioned much about Auburn but will be one of many recruits in attendance. Lattimore has previously mentioned Auburn in his top 10.

There are expected to be around 60 recruits in Auburn on Saturday. Auburn has to compete with other spring games this weekend such as Alabama, West Virginia and Tennessee. Damien Robinson was originally supposed to visit this weekend has since backed out. Brian Vogler attended practice today.

2008 signees Robert Cooper, Anthony Gulley, Daren Bates, Andre Harris, John Sullen, Philip Lutzenkirchen, Taikwon Paige and Travante Stallworth will also be in attendance.
