Confirmed: Newton To Visit

AuburnSports.com and ITAT are now confirming that five star Cam Newton will visit Auburn this weekend. It is an official visit and if an offer is extended, Newton would likely accept within a couple of days it appears. Newton would have two years to play two.

  1. Now that I have had a few days to let the shock wear off, I think I'm kinda excited about us taking a shot at Newton. Dude is a freaking beast of a QB, and could really add alot to our offense. Moseley and Rollison obviously wouldn't be ecstatic about it, and its possible one of them leaves and goes somewhere else, but the guy only has 2 years to play, so they know if they stick around they've got at least their junior and senior seasons. Who knows, Newton may come in and not be the starting QB, but could be the wildcat QB like Kodi was this year? Regardless, the extra competition can only help. WAR EAGLE...this is gonna be an AMAZING class.

  2. This is growing on me. Like everyone else, I was optimistic about our young QBs, but regardless of how good they are (or aren't), Cam's probably better... probably way better. One good sign is that this indicates our coaches want to win now, and not slowly develop for 2 or 3 years. It also will help with next years QB recruits.
Hard to argue with taking this guy over a Juco DE.

  3. I don't like it........it just doesn't seem smart. We've got 4 QB's on scholly now and from what I hear, Moseley and Rollison are no sloughes. Moreover, this kid has only two years, has had character issues, and will possibly hinder the others from getting the reps and playing time they need to develop for the future. Finally, if he comes, we might lose Rollison although I'd think Moseley would stay since he's a local kid. Just my opinion for what it's worth.

  4. I trust these coaches. Cam is a freakish athlete that cannot be passed on. These coaches want to win now. Also this shows you how the coaches think about our current QB's. This dude could run the Wildcat really well. Bring him to the Plains!!!
